Retro Sport Rifle

This project has gone through different design goals over the years, with some long breaks in between from working on other projects. I started this project back in 2018, the goal of modelling a low-poly Sci-Fi rifle. Later in 2022, I started modelling it again with the goal of minimalistic design. Where you use magnets to to attach different parts, like scopes, grips, barrels, etc. Short in 2025 was making a sport rifle, with the goal of not other thinking if a detail makes sense or not.

Now 2026. My goal changed to making a Retro Sci-Fi sport rifle with some 80s tech on it. Making it look both sharp and simple, yet bulky and old in terms of tech. I didn't want to change too much from the original design. So I think I could do a better job if I had this same goal in mind from the get go. But I'm still pretty happy with the final result regardless.

This project was pretty good practice for making plastic materials bu suing Subsurface, while I also learned a thing or two making metallic materials.
